Images that moved me. Issues that Mattered.
I'll be honest. I'm a young, cisgender white man, and I'm aware that comes with its own set of blind spots. There are conversations I'd rather listen to than lead. But staying silent on everything isn't the answer either. These are my views on the issues where I feel I have enough understanding to speak, not as an authority, but as someone who thinks our systems are broken and that saying nothing is its own kind of complicity.
The punishment should fit the crime, not the color of your skin or where you come from. When one person walks away with a fine for the same offense that sends another person to prison for years, that isn't justice. That's a system failing the people it was supposed to protect.
When a corporation is worth billions but fights tooth and nail to deny its workers healthcare and basic benefits, something is deeply wrong. Workers have every right to organize, unionize, and demand better. No company's profit margin is worth more than the people who built it.
We've made progress, but progress isn't the same as justice. Every day, qualified people are turned away from jobs because of a disability that has nothing to do with their ability to do the work. That's not a hiring preference, that's discrimination, and it's still happening today.
